Meet Cristiana
Cristiana Brusco is an Italian-Argentinian artist who has been living in San Diego, CA, since 2012. She is an active board member of The Southwestern Artists Association and a member of the Spanish Village Art Center in Balboa Park.
After moving from Italy to the U.S., Cristiana began painting with oils, developing her skills through classes, workshops, learning from other artists, and exploring books and videos. Her dedication and experimentation have shaped her distinctive style.
Inspired by the natural beauty of San Diego, her work focuses on painting emotions rather than representational forms. Specializing in abstract contemporary landscapes and seascapes, her paintings are highly expressive and colorful. She builds her compositions over several sessions, layering color and texture, with the final layer applied using brushes and a palette knife to create a textured three-dimensional effect.
Her art has been featured internationally, including in the "56 Roma Art Festival" in Piazza Della Repubblica, as well as at the “Area Contesa” and “Tornatora Art Gallery” in Italy. In San Diego, she has exhibited at events like ArtWalk in Little Italy and Liberty Station, the Exhibition of Fine Art at the San Diego County Fair, and the Studio Door’s annual “50 to Watch” show. Cristiana has received recognition and won ribbons in various exhibitions for her vibrant work.
Her paintings are on display at Studio #23 and #1 in Spanish Village Art Center, Balboa Park, and she is represented by Adelman Fine Art Gallery in San Diego.
